Arm Prosthesis Use

An arm prosthesis is a prosthetic device for people who have lost an arm. Arm Prostheses consist of a movable artificial arm and a mounting system. The prosthesis helps the person who has lost the arm to continue with the activities of daily living and maintain their independence.

Using an arm prosthesis can be accomplished in several steps. First, the prosthetic device needs to be prepared. This is usually done by attaching the prosthetic device to the replacement portion of the arm and attaching it to the mounting system.

Then, correct grip and movement techniques should be learned for the use of the prosthesis. This facilitates the use of the prosthesis and also reduces the stress that may occur on the arm.

To use the Arm Prosthesis, a control device such as a button or switch is used to control the on-off mechanism of the prosthesis. The prosthesis works using a motor that mimics movement and a microprocessor that controls the movement.

Using an arm prosthesis is an important source of independence and self-confidence for people who have lost their arms. Prosthetic wearers can do many activities in their daily lives thanks to their prosthesis, for example, cooking, cleaning, dressing, using the phone, driving the car, etc. However, prosthetic use may take some practice, and good care of the prosthetic device is also important.
