SGK Hand and Arm Prosthesis Supports

As of 2025, the Social Security Institution (SGK) in Türkiye will provide financial support at certain rates for hand and foot prostheses.
 
Myoelectric (Bionic) Arm Prostheses
 
Myoelectric prostheses are advanced technology products that move by sensing the user's muscle signals. The SGK pays certain rates for these prostheses:
 
The SGK deducts 20% from these payments for employees and 10% for retirees.
 
These prostheses are advanced technology products that mimic the user's natural movements by sensing muscle signals. The SGK pays a certain amount for these prostheses. However, deductions are made from this payment based on the patient's employment status.
 
Ornamental (Cosmetic) Hand and Arm Prostheses
 
The SGK payment amounts for ornamental prostheses used for aesthetic purposes:
 
A 20% deduction is applied to these payments for employees and a 10% deduction is applied to retirees.
 
Silicone and Bionic Finger Prosthetics
 
The Social Security Institution (SGK) does not cover custom-made silicone hand or arm prosthetics or bionic finger prosthetics. However, in some cases, private health insurance or other social assistance programs may provide support for these types of prosthetics.
